1/2 cup wildflower honey
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 egg
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts


Blend honey, sugar, butter, eggs. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add honey mixture. Add nuts. Shape into a roll and wrap in waxed paper. Chill 1-2 days to allow sufficient ripening (or blending of flavors) of dough. Slice in 1/4 inch pieces. Bake at 350 degrees for 5 minutes on bottom rack and 5 minutes on top rack. Good with fresh fruit or hot chocolate.
